The morning light interspersed in the Autumn season
The white stair-like painting is drawn by the Tibetans to the deceased. Hopefully, the soul will not wander and they will reincarnate as soon as possible. Generally, there will be more in God mountains area.
Cold in the morning
On December 25, 1954, after tens of thousands of road building troops strenuously fought hard, the Qinghai-Tibet Highway passed through the line. Since then, the Qinghai-Tibet Highway has become an important transportation link among Tibet, Qinghai, and inland. After several decades of vicissitudes and decades of glory, in order to ensure the smooth flow of the Qinghai-Tibet Highway, several generations of road maintenance workers have overcome common people’s unimaginable difficulties and have worked hard in the cold and oxygen-deficient regions to write chapters of their lives with youth and sweat.
On the way to Damxung County, the Qinghai-Tibet Railway can be seen from time to time, and from the perspective of onlookers, it is really magnificent.

Northern Tibet Grassland
The northern Tibetan plateau grasslands refer to the vast plateau of northern Tibet. In Nagqu, it mainly refers to the prairie of Changtang, one of China's five largest grazing lands, is located among the Kunlun Mountains, Tanggula Mountains, and the Kailash Mountains. It is not only a paradise for wildlife but also a fertile ground with rich deposits. The yaks can be seen everywhere in the Tibetan grasslands of northern Tibet. They can climb mountains, can drown water, and are omnipotent.
The closer to Damxung, the lower the temperature is, the more you can see frozen lakes and snow-capped mountains.
In the off-season, most of the hostels opened in Damxung County by outlanders had already been withdrawn. Because Namtso was snowing, the temperature in Damxung County was also very low.
Nyenchen Tanglha Mountains & Namtso Lake
About 5 o'clock, got up and went to Namtso to see the sunrise.
After watching the sunrise, we went to Namtso Lake.
It is the largest lake in Tibet and the highest saltwater lake in the world. It is also a holy place for pilgrims. According to the report, Lake Namtso is the daughter of the Dishi and the wife of Nyenchen Tonglha and it is regarded as a sacred place to go by the pilgrims and there are many worshipers from ancient times to the present. The five islands in the lake stand among the hectares of blue waves. Buddhists say that they are the incarnations of the Five Buddhas. Those who go to the holy lake to worship the Buddha will piously bend the knees in worship.
It is said that in the every Tibetan Year of sheep, the Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, and other Buddhas will set up altars at the Lake Namtso. In the meantime, circumambulation around the lake once will be equal to more than 100,000 times at ordinary times. Therefore, every April 15 (Buddha Auspicious Day), believers will travel to Lake Namtso to walk around the lake and the splendor of the occasion surpasses anything heretofore seen.
Guesthouses at Namtso
Nyenchen Tanglha Mountains in the distance is beautiful. Feel the wind blowing on Namtso, so cold ah ~

Through eastern and central Tibet, it is one of the main peaks in Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and a continuation of the east of the Kailash Mountains. Its main peak is 7,111 m above sea level. Lake Namtso is in the northwest direction of Nyenchen Tonglha Mountains, and in the south of Nyenchen Tanglha Mountains is the Yangpachen Valley with abundant geothermal resources and many hot springs.
It is said that the God of Nyenchen Tanglha Mountains commanded hundreds of Tanggula Ranges across northern Tibet and was the most important of the world's Protective Gods. Nyenchen Tanglha Mountains
The Legend of Lake Namtso and Nyenchen Tanglha Mountains
Nyenchen Tanglha and Namtso are a loving couple, living in the beautiful northern Tibetan Plateau and they are inseparable. One day, Nyenchen Tonglha went to find a lost herd of cattle and sheep and went into another ranch. He met the glamorous young girl - Yamdrok. Nyenchen Tanglha fell in love with Yamdrok, forgetting everything and forgetting his wife Namtso who was waiting for him at home. Namtso mistakenly thought that her husband was in danger and she cried day and night and she eventually became a clear lake. As the days went by, Nyenchen Tonglha suddenly remembered his wife. He felt guilty and eagerly rushed home to see Namtso who had turned into a lake. He regretted and reproached himself and stood by the lake and didn’t sleep every day and night. He later became the handsome snow-capped mountains waiting around her day and night, and the lonely Yamdrok also became a glamorous lake.
Because it was off-season, we went early, so the white yak that was specially photographed with tourists was not available.
This is yak dung that the Tibetans use to get fire and heat water, and it can only be used after being dried.
What needs to be reminded is that there are many wild dogs beside Namtso, and most of them are left unattended, and I think the probability of attack is quite high. When there are few people at Lake Namtso, you must be careful.
The Nagenla Pass is 5,190 meters above sea level.
It is a mountain pass that crosses the Nyenchen Tanglha Mountains to Lake Namtso. It is a mountain pass that is said to be a forbidden zone of life at an altitude of 5,000 meters above sea level. Here you can overlook the Lake Namtso. This is a scenic spot and a rest area. At the pass, a stone monument indicating the height of the mountain is erected. Marnyi Stone at the pass is covered with prayer flags. Looking northwards from the pass, you can see the blue Lake Namtso. If you are in good health, you can stand at the pass and look into the fields. You will suddenly feel the senses of force and vast.
The return line is 109 National Road.
